Woke up in the backseat of a rusty Chevrolet 
Roll south on 75.
Got belts showing on the tires
Got a few jumper wires and a cold cup of caffeine to stay alive.
Broke a string outside the Nati 
Next stop is Renfro Valley 
Where we take take the stage around 9 or so.
If everything goes right 
I’ll be home before the morning light 
Back in the arms of the one I love.
The world keeps on spinning 
I’m still out here gigin 
It’s hard when work is far from home.
I’m out here losing my mind 
She’s at home towing the line
So I can make a few more dollars for my love.
